Words of Questionable Wisdom from the Distribution Manager

Geez.

I really don't have a whole lot to say this month, other than the fact that I'm pleased we're still going. Hooray! Even better, we're almost back on schedule. Double hooray!

I was actually planning on reviewing this month what for me has to be the ultimate toy experience ever, but, well, I'm too busy still playing with them to write about them! What am I talking about? Star Wars LEGOs, my friend. Star Wars LEGOs. Here, let me at least give you a quick overview for now: These things are a wonder to behold. The detail is amazing. Better yet, they actually don't introduce a lot of specialized pieces! In fact, there are pieces in the X-Wing set that I haven't seen in years (an interior corner roof piece, believe it or not). Where they do introduce new pieces, they have very carefully tailored them to be useful in other roles. For instance, the piece that is used for the X-Wing cannons is also used for the Speederbike struts and that arc of electricity that holds the two pods together in the Pod Racers (from Episode I). If you've seen any of the previews (or hell, the actual movie), I'm talking about that arc of electricity that Jar Jar Binks sticks his head through...

I'm in danger of not being brief anymore, so I'll stop there. Though I will leave you with this impression: They kick ass. The Law of Conservation of Ass is violated, for they seem to create Ass from thin air simply to kick it.

But then again, I've been in love with LEGOs since the early 70's, when I got my first set, an ambulance with two non-poseable guys, and my second set, the larger scale Apollo 11 lunar lander.

Keener Awards

Geez. The Keener Award. Well, it's got to be Jason English and Bernard David who get it this month. One of these days, I'm going to win it, I swear to you!

Update: Count the Springers!

No one has dared try the Count the Springers contest, so there's no update. I'll have to start whining again if I don't hear from anyone by next month. See last month's House Organ for more details.
