The House Organ

Words of Questionable Wisdom from the Distribution Manager

Last month, I actually stated the following:

Well, we're late again. I apologize. Next month we should be on target. We've got a little something special in store for you: The APAGear Character Compendium! What can that be? It's everything you've ever wanted in an APA, and so much more. In other words, I'm not telling. You'll have to wait and see.

Yeah, right! Apart from having the APAGear Character Compendium ready to fly, we're late again and I'm sorry. I'm going to stop mentioning that we're late in the future, and I'm not going to predict that we won't be late. By "we" I mean "I," since it's not the members' fault!

Now that the apologizing is out of the way, let's have a look at this issue, shall we? It's the APAGear Character Compendium. It's chock-full of characters for you to use in your campaigns -- as allies, resources, or enemies. What makes this particular bunch of characters so special, though, is that it is us.

Yeah.

These characters represent (hopefully) honest attempts by us at converting ourselves into Heavy Gear characters. That meant a lot of estimating, of course, but fortunately Dream Pod 9 has presented good examples in the Heavy Gear Rulebook of how to interpret stats.

Still, there was some amount of leeway. The stats may not represent us as we are today, but rather how we hope to be in a few years.

If you should happen to use these characters in your campaigns, you're obligated to tell us how we fared. *^_^* If our characters happen to get killed off in horribly grizzly fashion, be explicit in your detail! Send comments to me and I'll pass them along to the gang.

You'll notice we have a special guest contribution this month, too. It's from the folks at APAGear Ita, lead by Andrea Vigiak. APAGear Ita is our official Italian affiliate. (How cool is that?!?)

Check it out!

Your Vaguely Humble Servant,

Christian Schaller

PS: Be on the lookout for the upcoming Heavy Gear Equipment Catalog, written by our very own Jason English! It should hit the stores real soon now. It's a good book - if this thing doesn't give roleplayers something to sink their teeth into, I don't know what will. Nice work, Jason!

Keener Awards

Our June Keeners are new member Colin Townson, who was first, and old member Josh Peters, the runner-up. Well struck!

It's finished! Really! It's there! Go chack out the Keener Hall of Fame!
