APAGear II Archives | Volume 3, Number 2 | March, 2001 |
Hi, folks.
Well, here we are at our 25th issue: the Silver APAGear. Hot damn, eh? Twenty-five issues of pretty hard core Heavy Gear fandom. It's sort of hard to imagine, isn't it? I would like to say something profound, and yet all I can manage is this is a barely stifled yawn -- not out of boredom but out of pure exhaustion, 'cause it's pretty late right now and I've got tons of stuff to do in the coming week.
I will say that I am proud of the crew. We've managed to hold it together much longer than many of us (I think) expected. We've had some slow months, but it's interesting to note that those were more than a year ago -- since then, we've been coming out pretty strong! Nice work, gang. Nice work.
Your Vaguely Humble Servant,
Christian Schaller
APAGear II Distribution Manager
The keener this month is Janne Kemppi, who has not missed a single issue since the very beginning of APAGear II. I think he didn't miss a single issue of the original APAGear, either! The runner up is Phil Lemieux.
Bryan Lee deserves special mention this month for going beyond the call of duty: not only did he write two stories for us, he wrote a piece for our sister, Jovian APAworks, and has contributed a couple of items to the forthcoming CEF Army List. (He's not the only one to moonlight for the CEF, either -- there are five other APAGear guys working on the CEF book, but I'll let you wait until it's released to see who the others are.)
Hm. Time for some kind of APAGear Medal of Valor.
