The "Growler" is a modified two-seat Super Hornet that will carry the same hardpoint-mounted ALQ-99 jamming pods as the EA-6B Prowler, the aircraft that the Growler is intended to replace. Each pod carried is represented as an ECM Perk at Rating 3. A commonly seen configuration is to mount 3 ALQ-99 pods (one under each wing and one on the centerline), for a TV of 8836.

If not operating as an EW aircraft, the Growler is perfectly capable of performing the same attack and air superiority missions as a standard Super Hornet. The wingtip antennae pods, for instance, would be replaced by standard AIM-9 Sidewinder launch rails, and the AGM-88 HARMs would be replaced by other stores.

The Deployment Range listed here is given for internal fuel only; Super Hornets routinely carry one or more external tanks, however, so sources will often list ranges that are much higher.
