Notes

This model was released in the mid-1980's as part of Revell's Robotech Defenders line, at the height of the popularity of the Robotech television series. Along with models from the Macross series (which formed the first third of Robotech), kits from other Japanese anime series were sold in the United States under this line; this vehicle, for instance, is also known as the Ground Search from the series Fang of the Sun Dougram. This particular kit offers the same vehicle in two scales; the larger of this model is shown above, while the smaller model is shown to the left.

Mecha and other vehicles from the Dougram series would make interesting designs for Heavy Gear, and have appeared in other games as well. A good online resource for the mecha in the series can be found at Mecha Anime HQ's entry for Fang of the Sun Dougram.
