The Helios system is filled with ships and space platforms with thousands of men and women working around the clock in one of the most dangerous environments known to man. Years of training and experience mean that accidents are few and far between. Unfortunately, when accidents do happen, they can be devastating; in space accidents there are usually more dead than injured.
In the wake of CEF attacks on Terranovan space assets, or when accidents do occur, search and rescue ships rush in to try and save the lives of the spacers. Their fast medical ships rush to the scene, trying to recover the wounded. Other times, they are sent to search for ships that are overdue. It's one of the most dangerous, most grisly, and most demanding jobs in space, but the spacers that work in the vacuum thank their lucky stars that these men and women will be there if something goes wrong.
An ice recovery vessel sent to the rings of Poseidon is a week overdue for its return to a base station around Zeus. The characters, crew of a small search and rescue vessel, must travel to the rings of the massive blue-green gas giant and find the vessel and rescue any of the ten person crew that is left alive.
