Notes

The Scope Hunter is a variant of the Assault Hunter Ammunition Carrier, intended primarily to act as a spotter and backup to the Hunter Long Rifle in a "scout/sniper" team. In addition to the hull modifications of the Assault Hunter AC, the Scope Hunter includes an upgraded sensor array and a medium autocannon to provide defensive fire. Since the Scope Hunter's ammunition bay can also accept clips for the LGPC Snub Cannon, Scope Hunters are also used to support Assault Hunters and Hunter Long Rifles in close combat situations. (Author's Note: The name of this variant is a tip of the hat to the Scopedog mecha from Armored Trooper Votoms. The Scopedog is both as common and as subject to modifications as the Hunter is in Heavy Gear. The two mecha types are about the same size, as a matter of fact .... ;)
